Steve Petersen, 50, died on Monday, November 19, 2007 at
Brunswick Cove Nursing Home. He was born in the Army
Hospital at Ft. Jay, Governor’s Island, N.Y. on August 22,
1957, the son of Donald F. and Glenn H. Petersen. He is
survived by his brothers, James F. Petersen and wife Penny
of Hampton, VA, and Jeffrey J. Petersen and wife Dian of
Aurora, CO, and their families.
Steve was a graduate of NC State University where he received
a BS degree in Forest Management in 1980. He lived in CA for
many years. One of his favorite jobs was as a park ranger on
Catalina Island, CA. He returned to Wilmington in 2000 because
of illness which was later diagnosed as MS. He lived at Solomon Towers for several years before going to the nursing home.
A family memorial service celebrating Steve’s life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 23rd, 2007 with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating.
It will be held at Wilmington Burial and Cremation, 1545 41st Street.
