Steven Roger Speck was born to Roger Speck and Evelyn Speck in Davenport, Iowa, on December 11, 1950. The Lord called him home at the age of 68 on September 23, 2019, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Michael Speck. He was the father of four daughters, Sarah Speck, Lana Speck (who preceded him in death), Victoria Speck (who preceded him in death), and Melissa Wyman. He was a grandfather to Thomas Wyman III and has another grandchild on the way. Steven has left behind four brothers, Ronald, Gary, Donald, and Jeffrey; a sister in law, Trisha Speck; and one step sister, Linnet Tournear. He is also survived by his ex wife, Vickie Morrison; nieces and nephews including, Jacob, Jennifer, Michelle, Chucky, Roger, Alex, Stephanie, Jefferey, Ava, JC, & Juliana.
His favorite past time was sailing, both racing and leisure, as he lived on a couple sailboats in his younger years. He also enjoyed bike riding and being outdoors. He was a Christian who is now rejoicing in heaven with the Lord.
A celebration of life will be held out of state. “…for I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creative thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
