Sybil Griffin Hales, 93, of Wilmington passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Trinity Grove.

She was born in Anthony, FL, on February 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Richard Hentz and Chevellette Therin Griffin, and was the widow of Clarence Hales, Sr. Also preceding her in death were a brother Andy Griffin and sister Chevellette G. Murphy.

A past Matron of Federal Point O.E.S # 361, and member of Stamp Defiance Chapter DAR. She was a active Communicate of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she enjoyed making Cristmons.

Surviving are her son, Clarence Hales, Jr. and wife Melinda, grandchildren, Eddie Hales and wife Veronica of Wilmington , Jeff Hales and Natalie Bubinski of Las Vegas, NV, great-grandchildren, Griffin and Finley. Nieces Roberta Clamo of Savannah,GA and Alice Rae Santo of Tampa, FL. Nephew Richard Griffin of Charlotte.

Funeral Services will be conducted at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2013. The Reverand John Misenheimer and The Reverand Mark Opgrand will officiate the service. Interment will be private at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

The family will see friends after the service.
