Ted Wayne Perry, Sr. age 73 of Castle Hayne passed away on Wednesday January 31, 2018.

He was born in Norfolk, VA on July 7, 1944 to the late James Zakie Perry and Grace Bell Byrd Perry. He was preceded in death by a brother James “Pete” Perry.

Ted was a faithful member of Anchor Baptist Church in Porters Neck. He was a proud Navy veteran and was retired from the NC Dept. of Corrections after 26 years as a Registered Nurse. Ted enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and Bar-B-Ques with family and friends.

Ted is survived by his wife, Judy Cannady Perry; daughter Malissa Perry Sweeney; son Ted Wayne Perry, Jr. (Tonya); three grandchildren Willow Grace Perry, Elias Matthew Perry, and Christina Sweeney Hillesheim; two brothers Bob Perry of TN and Larry Reuter of FL; sister Terri Arsani of VA.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 1 pm Sunday February 4, 2018 at Anchor Baptist Church 300 Futch Creek Rd. Wilmington, NC 28411

Ted’s family would like to acknowledge the family of Haley Moore who passed away in 2007 for the special gift of life by donating her lungs to help Ted live another 10 years.
