Memorial Gifts & Donations

Teresa Lynn Cockfield, age 51, of Wilmington passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. She was a fighter who bravely fought and won the battle of breast cancer twice, but with sad hearts, we announce her passing.

She has now moved from this Earth to Heaven where she is to be reunited with her mother, Victoria Rose Cockfield; grandmother, Lois Davis; grandfather, William Davis and Aunt, Susan Wallace. Teresa lived her life to the fullest and in real time, never rushing the moments. She enjoyed browsing flea markets and consignment stores with friends, watching NASCAR and General Hospital and spending time with her sister Tammy.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Tammy Cockfield; uncles, Bill Davis and William Wallace; cousins, Amy and Leslie Wallace and canine companion, Barney.

A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Hugh McCrae Park Shelter #1.

The family would like to thank her Reeds Jeweler Family for their friendship.

I am so sorry for your loss. Although, I do not know your family personally, I would like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they resurrected as per John 5:28-29. May these words give you a new hope.

Tammy, I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Teresa for many years at Roses. She was always so nice and upbeat all the time. Many times we would talk about you and your Mother. She loved both of you so very much . I know you will miss her very much. She's up in heaven with Mr Archer now. He would grab her to go to the bank with him her. Because she worked in the toy department [they went out the garden shop door]. He would start driving before he got his left leg in and the door would still be open. She laughed then and I'm sure they are catching up and laughing now. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God be with you .... Love Debbie
