Thomas Clifford Cook went to be with the Lord October 29th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. The family extends thanks to Dr. Schrieber, Zimmer Cancer Center staff, Lower Cape Fear Hospice, loving neighbors and church family.
Tom was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1947 to Thomas S. Cook and Sara Jane Ramsey Cook. Survivors include his loving wife and soulmate of 43 years, Rebecca Carlson Cook, Sons Zachary Cook, Adam Cook (Kristen), grandson Calvin, sister Maralee Lindenfeldar (George), brother-in-law Terry Carlson (Cindy), mother-in-law Jean Carlson, four nephews and one niece.
Tom served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania. He worked at Polk Center, PA and Caswell Center, Kinston, NC as a Speech Language Pathologist before retiring to Carolina Beach, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s name may be considered to the New Hanover County Meals on Wheels or Carolina Coast Vineyard Church in Carolina Beach, NC.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be decided at a later date.
