On Sunday, January 17th, 2021, Thomas Dean (DJ) Hartsfield II, loving son and brother, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 31.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:ooPM till 7:00PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

DJ was born on April 6th 1989 in Elizabeth City, NC to Dean Hartsfield and Debra Knowles. He graduated from E.A. Laney High School in 2008 and attended Cape Fear Community College and Santa Monica College respectively before working for multiple companies in mobile communications and volunteering for the sound booth at his church, Spring View Pentecostal Freewill Baptist.

DJ excelled at whatever he put his heart into be it work, hobby or life itself, but his main passions were his family, friends and drawing. He was unfailingly humble and kind. He always had a smile to give or made it his mission to get one out of others. DJ never met a stranger and always seemed to know everyone. He was known by all for his infectious laugh, quick wit and compassionate spirit. He will be missed beyond measure.

DJ was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Hartsfield and his Grandmother, Judy Hartsfield. He is survived by his father, Thomas Dean Hartsfield, his mother, Debra Renee Knowles, his sister, Tiffany Brand (Husband Jeremy), his niece Kinsley and nephew Rodney, his papa Rev. Rodney Knowles, his mema Barbara Knowles and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted on 2:00PM, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Spring View Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church: 801 N College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28405

Burial will follow the services at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
