Thomas Earl Arthur

On June 10, 2021, Thomas Earl Arthur passed away into God’s graces after an extended illness. A fighter throughout life and through out this illness, he never gave up.

He is survived by his wife Pam whom he loved more than most people can comprehend much less be blessed enough to experience in their lifetime. He also is survived by his son Jeffrey Thomas and his wife, Laura, and his daughter, Jennifer Arthur Linnemann. He also leaves 7 grandchildren who loved him very much. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Verlie Arthur of Rowan County North Carolina.

Tom, a graduate of East Carolina University, rose to leadership positions at IBM and Xerox before moving to the insurance industry where he lead sales efforts for Mass Mutual and Northwestern Mutual Life. Tom always gave back to his Wilmington community and relished his time with the Wilmington Rotary Club, He served as president where he represented Wilmington at the Rotary Worldwide Convention in Mexico City, Mexico. Tom thanks all Rotarians for their support over the years. He also loved to fish and was known all across the Cape Fear area as a master angler and baiter. Tom sometimes liked to project a gruff exterior but those that knew him always spoke of his generous and giving spirit to those in need. His love of his community and family knew no bounds.

The family is working on planning a gathering to celebrate Tom at a future date. The arrangements will be updated on Wilmington Funeral & Cremation website as more information becomes available.

Dear Pam, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Tom. I want to thank Tom and you for enriching our lives with your friendship. There are so many fond and humorous memories of our time together. From Tom volunteering to help paint our condo (late 1980s) to Criss volunteering to push Tom’s wheelchair. Wishing you peace with your memories of your lives together.

In an earlier condolence message, I wrote that Tom volunteered to help us paint our condo. I left off the most important part “Who VOLUNTEERS to help someone paint?!…Tom Arthur”.
