Thomas James Leecock, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday March 25, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.

A native of Queens, New York, Thomas was born on March 29,1927 to Olga Haight Leecock and David Leecock. Thomas was one of nine children. A graduate of Richmond Hill High School,

Thomas served his country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Princeton. After his service, Thomas worked as a custodian engineer and supervisor and retired from the NYC Board of Education.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Janet; his parents; four brothers, William, David, Freddy and Arthur and three sisters, Olga, Eleanor and Janice.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children, son, Thomas D. Leecock and wife Debra; daughter Laura Gerstner; son, William Leecock, daughter Cindie Rovnak and husband John; grandchildren Douglas Leecock and wife Michelle, Ryan Leecock and wife Ashley; Katrina Baxley and husband Brandon, Richard Gerstner; Tiffany Leecock, Russell Leecock and wife Debra; great-grandchildren Jacob Leecock, Jonathan Leecock, Christopher Leecock, Annemarie Leecock; Charlotte Leecock, Thomas J. Leecock; Riley Baxley; Amelia Leecock, his sister Joan Neff and husband Edward; sister in law Annemarie Leecock and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday April 2nd at 10:30 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington NC. Deacon Rick Tucek will be presiding. Service can be Livestream at—thomas-leecock-pyneiuf2htppvi7p5gqh.

Please join the family for a reception immediately following the service in the parish hall.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 20 at 11 am in Cypress Hills cemetery, Garden of Prayer, Brooklyn, NY. Please use cemetery rear gate on Cooper Avenue off Myrtle Ave. in Glendale, NY.
