Thomas “Tommy” Lee Shepard Jr. of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

He was born in Wilmington on May 18, 1947 to the late Thomas Lee Shepard Sr. and Mazie Shepard Foister.  He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, William Thomas Batts, Mollie Sanders Batts, Dewey Lee Shepard and Maggie Rogers Shepard; sister: Lucille Hope Shepard; sister-in-law: Rosemary Shepard; and one nephew: Thomas Brian Shepard; mother-in-law: Eunice Dickens; and brother-in-law: Barry Lanier.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Teresa Lanier Shepard and two daughters: Melissa Shepard (Cindy) and Wendy Shepard Meeks;  his siblings: Wayne Shepard, Angela Faith Shepard and Cecilia Joy Shepard; grandchildren:  Richard Holmes, Isabella Rose Holmes, Joseph Holmes, Abagail Murphy, Nicole Meeks and Teddy Meeks; sister-in-laws: Jennifer Cherry (Bill), Robin Horrell, Tammy Landreth (Joey) and Bunny Quinn; brother-in-law: Lannie Lanier, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tommy was was a loving, devoted husband and father.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Tommy’s life on Saturday, November 4, 2017  11 AM   at Middle Sound Advent Christian Church, Wilmington NC.
