Thomas “Tommy” M. Butler, 70, of Leland, NC passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Brunswick Cove Living Center.

Tommy is preceded in death by his son Thomas Christopher Butler on July 7, 2012. He is survived by one sister, Curtis Tinsler, of Wilmington, NC. In addition to his sister he is survived by his former wife, Mary A. Butler of Leland, NC, daughter Wanda Butler Leggett and husband Gerald of Leland, NC. and five grandchildren, Jerry Leggett, Daniel Leggett, Sarah Leggett, Austin Leggett, and Colton Butler.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. Leland NC. Interment will follow at the Nelson Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

The family will also receive friends at the home of his daughter, Wanda Leggett, 1556 Bluff Dr. NE Leland, NC.

The following will serve as pall bearers: Gerald Leggett, Jerry Leggett, Daniel Leggett, Austin Leggett, Billy Lewis, and Dean Rathburn.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brunswick Cove Living Center for their many years of service and care.

    IM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOST, There's not enough words to express my sympathy. Tommy was A GREAT MAN with lots of laughs and wisdom!!! TOMMY will truly be missed! My thoughts & prayers goes out to MRS. Wanda for being so strong thru all this not once but twice. You were a wonderful Daughter to TOMMY! Just know he is in a better place, chilling with his son!
