Thomas Wayne Fowler Jr.

Memorial Gifts & Donations

Thomas Wayne Fowler Jr was born August 31st, 1967 in Wilmington, NC to the late Rev. Thomas W. Fowler Sr. and Mary James Fowler.

Coach Tommy as many knew him was a man personified by two things: His love for serving Jesus and his love for serving others. He served many throughout His community through various means, including serving as an Usher at Solid Rock Church, as the President of the Green Hill hunting club and served for over 18 years coaching baseball, softball and football throughout Brunswick County. He also judged and participated in many field trials throughout the years and was loved by many of his fellow hounds’ men. The legacy Tommy left this world can still be found in the ethics he instilled in those He coached and the compassion experienced by those He served. Tommy lived serving others and no matter how difficult it got or how much it hurt, he would remind us to “Rub some dirt on it and keep going” Tommy was a hero to many especially to his children and grandchildren. His family was most important to him, second to Jesus only.

Tommy passed away September 4th, 2021 at the age of 54, at his home in Winnabow, NC. Tommy is survived by his wife of 30 years Wanda Hall Fowler. His children Trent Hall, Rev. Cobie Fowler, Hunter Fowler (Maddie), Brandon Fowler (Mali), and Brooke Sullivan. His grandchildren Aylah, McKenlee, Avery, Charli, Gentry, Greyson, Knox, Cadmin, Reigan, and Isabella. His mother Mary Fowler, his sister Betty Fowler, and his brother Mike Fowler (Stephanie) and several nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his best friend and father-in-law Billy Ray Hall Sr.

Pallbearers: Trent Hall, Mike Fowler, Jamie Brown Sr., Chris Morgan, John Jordan, Brandon McRae, Lee Sellers, Dustin Willetts.

Celebration of life will be at Living Word on September 18, 2021 at 11am 1029 George II Hwy Winnabow, NC 28479. Reverend Cobie Fowler will be officiating.

Due to the nature of the situation, we will be celebrating Tommy’s life and legacy on the lawn of Living Word. He loved outdoors and this will help everyone remain safe during this time. If weather does not permit, we will have the service in the sanctuary.

    John Benson says:
Tommy Fowler was one of the finest men I've ever known. There was no click at Green Hill Hunt Club, he made sure everyone had a fair chance. Does it matter what financial wealth one achieves here on this earth; I think not , the only lasting thing we can hope to do is touch someone else's life in a positive way and show them love. Tommy did a lot of that. Like so many others; I'm going to miss my friend; I've had many buddies , but very few friends.Trent ,Hunter you guys, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
