Timothy Charles “Tim” Shannon, 45, of Leland, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. He was born on June 27, 1968 in Huntsville, AL to Netta Shannon of Leland and the late Charles Shannon.
He coached youth baseball and softball in the Wilmington area for various Optimist Clubs for approximately 10 years. He was an avid “Alabama Football” fan and fisherman.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his three children, Garrett, Danielle, and Seth Shannon; a sister Kim Williams & husband Kevin; a brother Keith Shannon; grandmother Adreene Wainscott; two nephews, Trevor Shannon, Hunter Williams; and a niece, Jessica Williams. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a son, Dylan Shannon; and grandparents, Harold Wainscott and W.D. and Lena Shannon.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 9:30 am until 11 am at the church.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday at First Baptist Church; 517 Village Road; Leland, with Dr. Michael Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
