Timothy Raymond Karp, Sr.


Timothy Raymond Karp, Sr., 76, beloved husband of 57 years of Katherine Futchs Karp, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Born in St. Paul Park, MN, January 1, 1942, he had worked at Corning for 33 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had been a member of the Ogden Volunteer Fire Department and the Ogden Volunteer Rescue Squad as well as  was a lapidarist and a rock hound. He had served as a Deacon, Elder, Treasurer and sound board engineer for the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk. He and Kathy also had traveled all over the United States in their camper.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Raymond and Helen Brotzler Karp,  and his sister, Diane Arndt.

Besides his wife Kathy, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Karp Jordan; his son Timothy R. Karp, Jr., and his wife Nora; his granddaughters, Heather Karp Thompson and husband Scott, Lindsay Jordan; his grandsons, Tim Karp III and wife Caroline, and Hunter K. Jordan; his great-grandchildren, Rowen and Fiona; his daughter and son of the heart, Deb Faraone and Jon Faraone; his sister, Debby Sellers; brothers, Terry Karp, Todd Karp, and Tom Karp, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m.Friday, May 4, 2018, in the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk, 2 W. Fayetteville St, in Wrightsville Beach. A reception will follow the service. The family request NO BLACK at the service, Tim loved color! Purples, blues, teal, greens, and pink. We want to celebrate not mourn.

The family suggest memorials be directed Little Chapel on the Boardwalk scholarship fund.

    Tim and I have always been close. When he left home and joined the service we always exchanged letters. He was a wonderful brother and friend. He is one of the kindest caring people you would ever meet. And yes his HUGs were the best! Love you my Dear Brother and will see you again some day.
