Tracy Everette Gwinn, age 83 of Rocky Point, NC passed away peacefully July 5, 2015 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Carlisle, WV on January 23, 1932.

Tracy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fern Gwinn; son, Rev. Marvin T. Gwinn (Jill); grandchildren, Rachel G. Nelson (Scott), Joshua D. Gwinn (April); 5 great grandchildren, Haiden E. Honeycutt, Macy L. Nelson, Gunner S. Nelson, Landon M. Gwinn, and Reagan E. Gwinn.

Tracy served in the US Army in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was employed by Bobcock and Wilcox Co. in Barberton, Ohio for 32 years. He loved to go to church, to fish, work on cars, work in his yard, and enjoyed all activities outdoors. He served as a church usher at The River at Wrightsville Avenue Church of God. He loved spending time with his family and loved to eat. He was a devout sports fan and loved the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Browns.

His memorial service will be 6 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at The Wrightsville Avenue Church of God, 2132 Wrightsville Ave, Wilmington, NC 28403. Family visitation will be from 5 to 6 pm.
