Veronica “Roni” Palmieri Marsh, 86, of Lake Waccamaw, NC and formerly of West Long Branch, NJ, passed away on January 1, 2023

Veronica moved to Lake Waccamaw in 1997 from West Long Branch, NJ, where she enjoyed lake life and the temperate weather of the south. She passed away on Sunday, January 1 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC with family at her side. She was born in Long Branch, NJ, on January 24, 1936. Veronica was one of three daughters of the late Frank and Delia “Della” Palmieri. She was a member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in West Long Branch NJ, and then attended the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Lake Waccamaw, NC, where she loved serving others and was a part of the Prayer Shawl Group and the Food Ministry. She also served on the board of the Lake Waccamaw Depot Museum. She enjoyed the beach, entertaining, traveling, cooking, fashion, playing Rummikub, exercising with her church group, and loved spending time with her family.

Veronica attended Asbury Park Business College classes, worked early on at the Walter Reade Theater in Oakhurst, NJ and retired as a loan officer in banking industry in Shrewsbury NJ. She was a member of the Monmouth Beach Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband Howard Marsh of Lake Waccamaw, NC; four children including Andrew Bennett and his wife Annette of West Liberty, KY, Frank Bennett and his wife Cathi of Waxhaw, NC, Michael Bennett of Lake Waccamaw, NC, and Nancy Hanisch Boutot and her husband Bryan of Palm Coast, FL; four step sons; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister Marie Lerner and her husband Robert of Oceanport, NJ; niece Jeanmarie Lerner and her husband Harry of Satellite Beach, FL. She was pre-deceased by: her sister Jean Tocci, nephew Robert “Bobby” Lerner, and grandson Christopher Marsh.

Services will be held on Sunday, January 29 th at 3:00 at the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church, 506 Lake Shore Drive, Lake Waccamaw, NC, 28450. (910) 646-4471.

Memorial donation may be made in her memory to the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church.
