Vicki Melvin, 64, of Wilmington passed away on March 5, 2020 at the home. She was born in Fayetteville, NC on June 29, 1955. She was the daughter of Ronald Eugene and Frances (Alley) Singletary.

She attended Wayne community College where she received her LPN Certification. Afterwards, she worked more than 20 years in the medical field.

She married Wendell Melvin on June 8, 1985 in Fayetteville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Steven Singletary.

Survivors include: her husband, Wendell Sam Melvin; Daughter, Melissa Carol Keller and husband Craig along with Granddaughter Ariel Keller; Daughter, Samantha Melvin Register and husband Benjamin along with Grandson Bradley Register; Son, Kevin Bradley Martin; Brothers, Ronald Singletary and wife Pam, Scott Singletary and wife Trish, Tony Singletary and wife Peggy; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Vicki loved the Lord which allowed her to share His love with anyone she encountered. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed time spent with family, especially her two grandchildren who knew her as “Mimi”. She also enjoyed a variety of music and in her earlier years sang in a county music band.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington NC 28401 and Coastal Community Baptist Church, 7721 Alexander Road Wilmington NC 28411.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 3:00 PM with a visitation just prior at 2:00 PM at Coastal Community Baptist Church.
