Vickie Jean Rood Brummet age 75 of Wilmington passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Anderson, Indiana.

Vickie was born in New Castle, Indiana on December 16, 1944, to George Rood and Mellissia Poynter Rood. She was the widow of Myron LaVerne Brummet. Vickie was retired from General Motors after 29 years of devoted service. After her retirement, she became a full time, wife, mother, and grandmother. She moved to Wilmington from Indiana to be near her children and grandchildren. Vickie was a faithful member of The River at Wrightsville Avenue Church of God. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting, especially blankets for all of her grandchildren.

Vickie is survived by her children, Leland Brummet and wife LeAnn of Wilmington, Michael Brummet and wife Cynthia of Easley, SC, and Michelle Brunner and husband Ray of Wilmington; grandchildren, Todd Hancock and wife Maria, Chris Brummet, Montanna Brunner and husband James, Hailey Brummet, Phillip Brummet, Savanna Brunner, and Meghan Brummet; brother, George Rood; and sister, Judy Horton and husband Darrel, along with other extended family members.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 3 Sunday, October 25, 2020, at The River at Wrightsville Avenue Church of God led by Pastor Loretta Graham.

    So sorry for the loss of your mother! I have great memories of Vickie from years earlier in our lives, we worked closely together with our kids in band in Anderson...She was always so sweet to me, I know she will be missed by her family and friends. May you rest in peace until we meet again!
