Vinness “Vann” Brohawn, 87, of Leland, NC, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Wilmington, NC.
Vann was born in Newark, NJ on September 30, 1922, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (O’Gorman) and Edward Englert.
During World War II, she was proud to be a “riveter” in the aviation industry and was an avid bridge and bingo player.
Surviving are: a daughter, Robyn Baily and husband Jack of Leland, NC, two grandchildren, Lon Harper of Elon, NC, and Daryn Hunt of Columbus, OH, five great-grandchildren, Charles Harper, Matthew Harper, Anderson Hunt, Avari Hunt, and Analiese Hunt.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Ash Garden, Wilmington, NC, by the Rev. John Misenheimer and Rev. Mark Opgrand.
