VIOLA JOHNSON LEITCH

Viola Johnson Leitch, 93 of Wilmington passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born on August 16, 1917 in Wilmington the daughter of the late Viola Potter Johnson and Robert P. Johnson She was preceded in death by her husband William Norwood Leitch, three sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Leitch was a member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church. She was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed cross stitch. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She is survived by her children , Bobby Leitch (Nancy), May L. Sawyer (Tom), Fay L. Gay (Leon), Jane L. Tchoaros (Costas), Katherine L. Brinson (Jack), and Barbara L. Brock; one sister, Geniva Johnson and one brother, Alvin H. Johnson; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel, and at other times at the home of her son, Bobby Leitch.

Graveside services will be 11 am Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Jonathan Watson. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
