Walter “Walt” James Hutchins, age 93 of Wilmington, NC, passed away at Davis Healthcare on March 7, 2022.

Walt was born in Fredonia, KS on March 4, 1929 to the late Bion and Neata Hutchins.

He was a member of the Army Air Corp and served in Guam. He was also an engineer for most of his life, as well as an inventor who held several patents for his inventions.

Walt is survived by his loving wife Margaret Hutchins, his daughters Elizabeth Hutchins, Katherine Rowe (Paul), and Laurie Mazeika (Nick), his son James Hutchins (Toni), 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He is predeceased by both his aforementioned parents.
