Walter William Arrington, III, 59, of Leland, NC died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Brunswick Cove Living Center, Leland, NC.

He was born in Greenville County, SC. on October 27, 1951, the son of the late Walter William Arrington, Jr. and Una Ruth Bishop and was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy L. Norris.

He retired as a transporter in the health care industry.

He is survived by wife, Lynda Arrington; one son, Walter Roy Dobson and wife, Krista of Wilmington, NC;
three brothers, Perry R. Arrington and David B. Arrington of Leland, NC, and Phil Spaulding and wife, Michele of Riegelwood, NC; three step-brothers, Pat, Bill and Lea Arrington of Bennettsville, SC;
one step-daughter, Bobby Ward and husband, Jimmy of Leland, NC; and six grandchildren, Brittney Ward and Brandi Marsh, Taylor, Billy, Tristan and Noah Dobson.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 7:00pm at New Life Freewill Baptist Church, Leland, by the Rev. S.L. Doty.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

    I will never forget how kind Walt was to my mother. He transported her back and forth for her doctor visits while she was in her decling years at Mariner. She trusted him. I was sure she was safe in his care. It meant a lot to me. My condolences to all his family...
