William L Bell

IN LOVING MEMORY OF WILLIAM L. BELL

William L. Bell was born on July 13, 1947 in Wilmington NC to the late Joseph M Bell and Mattie P Bell. He departed this life on June 24, 2021 after a long illness. William graduated
from Williston High School in Wilmington NC.

William is survived by his wife of 47 years Jeanette Bailey Bell and son, Jonathan William Bell of the home. One sister, Florence Logan of Hyattsville, MD; Niece, Natalie Mitchell (William Mitchell) of Upper Marlboro, MD; Nephew, Michael Logan (Jamila) of Upper Marlboro MD and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Two siblings preceded him in death, Eleanor Grimes and Joseph Winfred Bell.

William and Jeanette, met the summer of 1973 in the Bronx NY. William was there to attend a District Assembly of Jehovahs Witnesses in Yankee Stadium. They married the next year. They had one son, Jonathan William Bell. William was a very good husband and father. As one of Jehovahs Witnesses, William was very concerned about getting his family to the Kingdom Hall for meetings, to District Assemblies and in the field ministry on a regular basis.

William did not mind hard work. After high school, he worked for Timme Corp, then the Pepsi Company for a while. William decided to work for himself. He took up house painting and floor maintenance, which he did for many years – training his son and some of his younger spiritual brothers how to strip, clean and maintain commercial floors.

William and Jeanette shared a wonderful sense of humor, could always find a good laugh in good or bad circumstances. He also had a great singing voice, but had to be urged to show it off most of the time.

William was very grateful to have served as an Elder in the Cape Fear Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses for many years, and to have shared the good news of God’s Kingdom with many people, acquaintances, work mates, etc.

He will be greatly missed by Jeanette and Jonathan and his extended surviving family. As well as very many spiritual brothers and sisters who have come to know and love him over the years.

Rest in peace William as we await the call of our Lord Jesus Christ at his appointed time.
John 5:28, 29
