William Martin Rogers, Jr.


William Martin Rogers, Jr. 59, of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his home.

He was born in Cobb County, GA on March 4, 1952 to the late William Martin Rogers, Sr. and Ada Grace Powell Rogers.

William was a proud veteran of the US Navy and was medically retired from GE as an instrument specialist. He was a member of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church , Wilmington Elks Club and was a certified EMT.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn G. Rogers; three children, Theodore M. Giedeman, William Rogers, and Shannon Johnson; four grandchildren including his special grandson, Parker “Redboy” Mace; one sister, Dawn Norton, two brothers, Duane Rogers and Bion T. Rogers; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

A celebration of life ceremony will be 4 pm Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jenny Wilson.

The family request no flowers and ask that you remember William with a memorial donation to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

    Teddy and Mrs Marylin. You all hang in there during this sad time. I thought so much of Roger he's such a great man! I always enjoyed talking to him. I bet he is walking around in Heaven, looking down upon us and wondering why we are all crying. He has Jesus to remove all of his pain now.
