William Rodney Kline


William Rodney Kline, 64, went home to his Heavenly Father on August 27, 2017. William was born on September 22, 1952 to Paul Kline Sr. and Ruby Turner Kline.  He is preceded in death by both parents and his great-granddaughter, Aria Nicole Cottle.

William cherished and loved his family dearly.  Surviving family includes his daughters: Angela Hinckley and husband Bert, Crystal Ward and husband Doug, Hope McPhatter and husband Chris; one sister, Carolyn Flowers (Earl); three brothers, Paul Kline Jr (Pansy), Richard Kline (Janice) and Dallas Kline (Liz); nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

William served in the Navy for several years and took great pride in serving his country.  He is a member of Harbor Methodist Church and he loved his church family dearly. He had many great friends who supported him and his family through his sickness. William also contributed to different organizations and loved to share his story and how the Lord saved his life. He was a very loving, soft hearted, humble man who would do as much as he could for anyone. He was a true man of God who was very steadfast in walking the path God wanted him to.  He is loved and missed dearly.

The family will receive friends from 1:30pm till 2:30pm on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Harbor United Methodist Church, 4853 Masonboro Loop Road Wilmington, NC 28409. A service to celebrate William’s life will follow at 2:30pm.

A presentation of Military Honors will be rendered in recognition of William‘s honorable and faithful service to his country.
