William Warren Hinton, Jr. , 66, of  Wilmington died Monday, November 13, 2017, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with his family at his side.

Billy was a lifelong Wilmington native and was born to the late William Warren and Jean Massey Hinton on January 11, 1951. Billy worked alongside his father in the construction business for many years before selling heavy construction equipment. A self taught scratch  golfer, Billy won many area golf tournaments and fostered a lifelong love of the game and the 19th hole.

Billy is survived by his wife of 41 years Linda Tysinger Hinton, daughter Catherine H. Casteen and husband Lee, son Trey Hinton, sister Jeannie H. Dalton and husband Greg, all of Wilmington,  brother John Robert “Bob” Hinton and wife Kris of Clayton, five precious grandchildren Trey, Noah, and Natalie Casteen and Emma and Tyler Hinton, father and mother-in-law Andy & Squeak Tysinger, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Andy & Sue Tysinger and his beloved canines Bennie & BooBoo.

The family will see friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM  Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Billy’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Southside Baptist Church.
