Wilmington- Mr. Wilton Stephens, 88 of Wilmington passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice .
Mr. Stephens was the son of the late Durham Stephens and Bertha Goins Stephens; he also was preceded by his wife, Gladys Moore Stephens ;a brother, Varser Stephens and a sister, Clara Todd. Mr. Stephens retired from B&W Boiler Makers and was a long time member of Long Leaf Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Kay S. Fipps of Wilmington, NC and Ann S. Lauer of Cary, NC; one brother, Jerry Stephens; two sisters, Vella Mae Milligan of Ash, NC, Ellen Coats of Wilmington; long time sweetheart, Doris Ward and two grandchildren, Stacy Lauer Gesell and Marin Lauer Fothergill; five great grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Long Leaf Baptist Church at 1:00 PM officiated by Mr. Stephens Great Nephew Navy Chaplain Troy Todd. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation at 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401 or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Andre Leonard and the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
