Yvonne Pamela Elizabeth Rigby passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on 12/22/2017 at home.

Born the only child to Reginald George and Ellen Elizabeth Rigby of Ipswich, England. Yvonne was reared during WWII with its harsh environments and attended Cambridge University for medical study. Yvonne then married a U.S. soldier and came to America with children Marshall and Suzanne.

Yvonne then continued to work in the medical field when New Hanover Memorial Hospital opened. Yvonne worked diligently in several areas including the ER, Psychiatry and Coronary Care with life-long friends Gloria and Donnie Woodcock, Mary and Ben Starinsky, and Grace Hannafey. As a Loving mother (mummy) was a Den Mother with Boy Scouts of America and taught life lessons to the children, which included camping, nature and enjoying as much time as possible at the beach.

Yvonne was graced with four wonderfully grandsons: Daniel, Joel, Brin and Owen. And five beautiful great grandchildren: Danielle, Jimmy, Morgan, Brin Jr., and Rylie.

Yvonnes relationship with the Lord was very strong and kept her very busy at Messiah Lutheran Church since it was built. Yvonne affiliated herself with Friends in Need, Mother Hubbards Cupboard and shared her artistic abilities with the church Bazaar and Vacation Bible School.

Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church on 12/28/2017 at 11 AM. If you can attend please wear something blue in Honor of Yvonnes favorite color.
