Zhen Mahlik Clemmons

Zhen Mahlik Clemmons, born on August 14, 2023, in Wilmington, NC, left his Earthly body much too soon on October 3, 2023.

Zhen, cherished son of Nasir Clemmons and Mackenzie Reed, brought immense joy to their lives during his brief time on this Earth. His memory will forever be treasured by his grieving parents. Zhen was also a beloved sibling to Carter Reed, True McMillan, and twin brother Zyaire Clemmons.

Zhen was preceded in death by his baby brother, Justin Gandy, who eagerly awaited him in the beyond. Together, they will forever watch over their family from the heavens above.

In addition to his immediate family, Zhen leaves behind a paternal grandfather, Nasir Clemmons, and maternal grandparents Jerome and Shari Reed. Also mourning his loss are his maternal great-grandparents Wallace and Sharon Lupton, along with numerous extended family members who loved and cared for him deeply.

Though Zhen’s time on this Earth was short, he left an everlasting impact on those who knew him. He had a love for music and would often engage in his “steering wheel dance” with his little hands, bringing smiles to the faces of those around him.

His adoration for music was matched only by the way he would smile and coo at his mother, melting her heart with every interaction. Zhen had a mischievous side too, often raising an eyebrow and giving a side eye in a playful way towards his father.

Zhen and his twin brother, Zyaire, shared a special bond that was evident to anyone who witnessed their interactions. They would take turns crying and feed off each other’s energy and found solace in their unbreakable connection.

One of Zhen’s favorite things was safari animals, with elephants being his favorite of them.

Though our hearts ache at the loss of such a precious soul, we find solace in knowing that Zhen is now at peace, and in the company of his brother Justin.

May we forever remember the joy and love that Zhen brought into our lives. May his memory be a guiding light through our grief, reminding us to cherish every precious moment with those we hold dear.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects during a Memorial Service, which will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:00 am. The service will take place at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Wilmington Chapel and will be officiated by Megan McBride of Hope Recovery Church.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Zhen. You will forever be missed and loved.
